   Missions

Missions

We have a strong heart for missions, and we are constantly watching for more opportunities to share the gospel of Christ and to be involved with missions.  We are always cautious, making sure that any mission organization that we support is accurate in faith and doctrine, and financially accountable.

We recognize the great task that our Savior entrusted to the disciples in Matthew 28:18-20 where He said, "And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, 'All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.  Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.'  Amen."

We also gain great insight on our task before us by looking to 2 Corinthians 5:18-20 where Paul instructed, "Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation, that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation.  Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ's behalf, be reconciled to God."

Our Commitment

It is our belief that too much of a distinction is made today between foreign and home missions.  The lost need the gospel of Christ wherever they may be.  Out of this understanding, our first commitment is to our own mission field.  Most of the people in our area do not have redemption in Christ, and it is our mandate to implore on Christ's behalf to be reconciled to God.  In the Ashland area, we are working to make sure that each home and family has an opportunity to hear the gospel of Jesus Christ.

We have also been involved with a mission work in India.  We built a church building for a group of believers in the Wangini Village of the Maharashtra Region.  In addition, we funded the full salary of Mr. Peppin, a missionary to these people.

We pray that our commitment to sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ will never tire, and will always be a burden on our hearts and minds!
