Al Smith
I’ve been married to my high school sweetheart, Lois, for 44 years. We are blessed to have two loving children and five wonderful grandchildren.
I was raised Catholic, baptized and confirmed. I never really understood much about the Catholic beliefs, but I knew if that was christianity, I wanted no part of it. Over the years I attended several different denominational churches and believed they were false.
At 47 years old I began to search for the truth and for God. After two years of searching, a friend gave me a book on Bible prophecy, showing the Bible was God’s Word and it clearly presented the Gospel of Jesus Christ. After reading the book for a couple of days, I came to understand that Jesus died for my sins and paid my sin penalty in full. I knew I was headed for hell because of my sins and I had to make a choice. I repented of my sins and received Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. Since that night my life has totally changed.
Having been in apostate churches prior to salvation, I am very concerned about the ecumenicalism and departure from sound doctrine that I see taking place in the church today. I desire the pure Word of God and reject all humanistic ideas and psychological theories. I believe the Word of God gives us everything we need to live a life that is pleasing to our Lord.
